Entitled "Popcorn", this piece feels like an exploration of pop art. In this painting, I did not want to depict the typical yellow corn one usually finds in a supermarket. Instead, I chose to present it in a different light—giving it a new life. I wanted the corn to evoke the fields, sometimes appearing rotten, as if forgotten after the harvest. At the same time, I sought to highlight the colours and diverse variations found across Latin America, where corn is known by many names, such as elote or choclo. I kept the background yellow to represent the universal colour of corn, which, in the end, becomes the essence of the field itself—always present in the background. The title Popcorn serves as an ironic twist, reinforcing the theme.
